    Ingredients

    Ingredients per capsule: Calaguala (Polypodium leucotomos) root extract 10:1 200mg, Vitamin C (as L-Ascorbic Acid) 80mg (100% NRV*), Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) leaf extract 8:1 (50% polyphenols) 50mg, Fructooligosaccharides 25mg, Vitamin E (as DL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate) 12mg (100% NRV*), Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum L.) fruit extract (5% lycopene) 10mg, Lutein 10mg, Vitamin A (β-Carotene) 400μg (50% NRV*), Selenium (as L-Seleniomethionine) 55μg (100% NRV*), Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol) 5μg (100% NRV*). Other ingredients: anti-caking agent (corn starch), vegetable capsule (HPMC). *NRV: Nutrient Reference Value.
    Directions

    Take 1 capsule daily with breakfast, before sun exposure.

    It is recommended to be taken for a maximum of 3 months, followed by 2 months. To be taken on an ad hoc basis, during the 3 months before or during the summer.
    Why Our Formula

    Taking Solar Care before sun exposure can protect the skin from the sun, prevent sunburn, and prepare skin for suntanning. Solar Care contains the following ingredients:

    • Calaguala (Polypodium leucotomos) is a fern from Central America whose underground rhizomes are used to prevent certain skin problems including sunburn. Taking Polypodium leucotomos extract before sun exposure can reduce skin redness and other signs of skin damage.
    • Green Tea is loaded with nutrients called polyphenols, which have been shown to fight free radicals and that can ease sun damage.
    • Lycopene from Tomato Extract is a is a natural pigment that gives fruits and vegetables their red colour. Taking lycopene protects against sunburn.
    • Lutein works as a light filter, protecting eye tissues from sunlight damage.
    • Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) have prebiotic effects and serve as a substrate for microflora in the large intestine, increasing overall health of the gastrointestinal tract.
    • Selenium contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair and nails and to protecting cells against oxidative damage.
    • Vitamin A contributes to healthy skin.
    • Vitamin C contributes to collagen formation
    • Vitamin D contributes to calcium and phosphorus absorption and utilisation.
    • Vitamin E contributes to cell protection against oxidative damage.

    Solar Care should be used in addition to topical photoprotectors and never as a substitute for them.

    Do I have to use sunscreen if I take the product?

    ABSOLUTELY YES, taking Solar Care capsules does not exempt you from using sunscreen! Our product will help you avoid getting a sunburn and preventing your skin from turning excessively red. As a result, your tan will be even. It's very important that you protect your skin, both inside and out, against UV radiation. This is most important during the first few days of sun exposure.
    Are there any specific adverse effects?

    Beta-carotene is a vitamin A precursor, which helps protect your skin from redness and supports eye health. Beta-carotene has adverse effects on smokers, as it may increase the risk of certain smoking-related conditions. Therefore, Solar Care capsules are not recommended for smokers.
    When is it recommended to start taking the Solar Care?

    Solar Care is recommended to start using a couple of months before the start of summer, to protect the skin before the aggressive sun exposure that occurs at this time.
